πŸŒ‰ Itinerary 1 β€” Classic San Francisco + Exploring Golden Gate Park

β˜€οΈ Morning (Coffee & Views)

Grab coffee and pastry at The Coffee Movement (Nob Hill) for an Australian-inspired coffee shop experience, a short walk from the Ritz.

Alternatively, you can go to Equator Coffee near Fort Mason β€” grab a cup (Rooibos chai latte is a special* or espresso) and stroll Crissy Field for bay breezes and postcard Golden Gate Bridge views.

 πŸ΄ Lunch (Casual & Scenic)

Some favorite lunch options in the Marina area (walking distance from Crissy Field)

  • Souvla (Marina) β€” fresh Greek salads, gyros and refreshing frozen Greek yogurt β€” perfect for a sunny day out.

  • Little Original Joes - a spin off of the SF favorite "Original Joes", specialty pizzas, pasta & other Italian dishes. We love their chicken Caesar wrap and their wings, too!

  • Tacolicious (Marina) β€” fresh tacos and Mexican-inspired lunch.

  • Causwells (Marina) - European-inspired bistro, best known for their burgers.

  • Radhaus (Fort Mason/Marina) - a modern Bavarian beer hall located in Fort Mason with German beers and bites.

πŸšΆβ€β™‚️ Afternoon (Explore + Iconic Sights)

Head over to Golden Gate Park which is full of lots of fun sites to see. A few favorites (although too many to cover in one day). *You can also rent bikes at Haight St/Stanyan St. entrance (Parkwide Bike Rentals & Tours) OR near the Music Concourse (Parkwide Bike & Surrey Rentals).

  • Hidden Gems: Music Concourse (central plaza between de Young and CA Academy of Sciences, often has musicians playing on weekends), Bison Paddock (yes, real live Bison in the park!)

  • Gardens: SF Botanical Garden (55 acres of global plants), Conservatory of Flowers (a beautiful Victorian greenhouse), Japanese Tea Garden (ticket to enter and walk around, with a beautiful tea house inside), Stow Lake & Strawberry Hill (easy loop walk around the lake + paddle boat rentals).

  • Museums/Culture: California Academy of Sciences (great for kids and adults with an aquarium, planetarium, and rainforest dome!) and the de Young Museum (fine arts museum with panoramic views of city/ocean from the top).

  • Best places for dogs or long walks: JFK Promenade (car-free stretch perfect for biking and strolling), Hellman Hollow (wide open grassy meadow), Ocean Beach (far western edge of the part hits the Pacific Ocean, you can walk along the beach for miles).

πŸŒ‰ Itinerary 2 - Dramatic Coastal Views + Exploring the West Side of the City

β˜€οΈ Morning (Bakery + Walk)

Swing by Cafe Isabella (Nob Hill) for breakfast burritos, and coffee. Alternatively, you can grab coffee and pastry at The Coffee Movement (Nob Hill) just a short walk from the Ritz.

Enjoy a scenic Uber or Waymo to Lands End Trailhead (at El Camino Del Mar + Legion of Honor Dr).

  • If you want a hike along the coast, walk the ~30 min (1.2 mi) moderate hike toward Sutro Baths. From there you can continue your walk down to Ocean Beach OR you can catch an Uber or Waymo to the Sunset.

  • If you want more of a city walk, enjoy walking around the neighborhood that abuts this trail for view of where Robin Williams grew up (Seacliff Neighborhood). You can also walk up to the Legion of Honor (a renowned art museum).

πŸ΄ Lunch (Local Favorite for Fresh Fish)

Hook Fish (Outer Sunset location on Irving Street) β€” fresh seafood and poke burritos, a delicious coastal vibe lunch. Don't be deterred by the line, it is worth it and there is a cute bookstore/coffee shop across the street.

Outerlands (Outer Sunset) open until 2pm for brunch/lunch food. Their breakfast sandwich and their Dutch pancake are amazing!

  • Within walking distance there are some fun surf shops: Mollusk Surf Shop, Aqua Surf Shop, and Pemulis Water & Power.

 πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ Afternoon (Ocean Beach Park)

Explore Ocean Beach Park (aka Sunset Dunes) a 3.5-mile stretch of beach and newly developed recreational space on San Francisco’s western edge.

The area features walking paths, a skate space, bike skills course, and public art. You're likely to catch some fun beach activities like volleyball, surfing, and kiteboarding.

πŸŒ‰ Itinerary 3 - Mill Valley + Marin Day

β˜€οΈ Morning β€” Coffee + Redwoods or Coastal Hike

Coffee Stops Nearby:

  • Equator Coffee (Mill Valley) β€” Local favorite with great espresso and breakfast bites.

  • Mill Valley Market β€” Grab coffee + picnic supplies if you’re heading out on a hike.

Option 1: Tennessee Valley Trail

Just 15 minutes from Cavallo Point, this is one of our favorite Marin hikes. It’s a wide, mostly flat trail that leads to a beautiful secluded beach β€” classic coastal cliffs and ocean views. Easy enough for a casual morning walk, scenic enough to feel special.

Option 2: Muir Woods

If you’d rather see towering redwoods, Muir Woods is unforgettable. Go early to avoid crowds and enjoy the quiet trails beneath the trees. *Tickets usually need to be pre-arranged for this.

*For either of these, service can be spotty so we recommend pre-arranging taxi or local car service OR driving your own vehicle. Guests of Cavallo point can utilize their fleet of Lexus' vehicles as a courtesy.

πŸ΄ Lunch β€” Charming Mill Valley

After hiking, head into downtown Mill Valley (about 10–15 minutes from Cavallo Point).

Great Lunch Spots:

  • Sol Food (Mill Valley) β€” Casual, colorful Puerto Rican food and a local institution. This is an SF fav and we often stop by here on the way back from Napa or a long hike.

  • Hook Fish (Proof Lab) - fresh seafood and poke burritos, a delicious coastal vibe lunch

  • Bungalow 44 β€” Cozy California bistro with a great patio.

  • Watershed β€” Seasonal, California cuisine in a beautiful space right in town.

🌊 Afternoon β€” Relaxed Marin Exploring

 Sausalito Stroll

Wander the waterfront shops and grab an ice cream with bay views. It’s charming and very walkable. A good point to start is Dunphy Park.

Cavallo Point + Fort Baker Walk

If you’re staying there, simply walk the waterfront trails from Cavallo Point β€” unbeatable Golden Gate Bridge views without the crowds.
